Midland, Texas – The Model Haus of Midland is gearing up for its third annual West Texas Fashion Week, an event that not only celebrates local fashion but also supports a noble cause. The proceeds from this year's fashion week will benefit the Basin Dream Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting teen homelessness in the Permian Basin.
The event promises to showcase a variety of fashion styles from local designers, offering a platform for emerging talents in the region. It will include runway shows, designer meet-and-greets, and various other activities aimed at engaging the community and promoting local fashion.
“The West Texas Fashion Week is more than just a fashion show; it’s an opportunity for our community to come together, celebrate creativity, and support a critical cause,” said Anna Lopez, one of the event organizers. “We are thrilled to partner with the Basin Dream Center this year and contribute to their efforts in providing shelter and resources for homeless teens.”
The Basin Dream Center, established in 2018, has been instrumental in providing housing, education, and life skills training to homeless youth. The funds raised from the fashion week will go towards expanding their programs and services, ensuring that more teens have access to the support they need.
This event highlights the intersection of fashion and philanthropy, demonstrating how community events can make a significant impact on social issues. The West Texas Fashion Week is scheduled to take place at the Model Haus of Midland from July 22-24, 2024.
